Indian Dahl

Dahl - A tasty lentil combination which can be used as a dip served with Naan bread or part of any Indian meal or a meal on it’s own served with rice & a light salad. This dish could also be used as a vegan dish, with the omission of the cream.

INDIAN DAHL

Serves 4-6 Medium

 

Ingredients:

150 grams yellow split peas

150 grams dry red lentils

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 x 400 gram cans tomatoes

2 ½ cups vegetable stock

1/3 cup cream

2 tablespoons fresh coriander – chopped

 

Method:

  • Rinse peas and lentils separately – drain
  • Heat oil in pan – add spice blend
  • cook stirring for 2 minutes
  • Add peas, lentils, tomatoes and stock
  • simmer covered for 30 mins – stir occasionally
  • Add cream & coriander – just before serving.
